RED ROSE CROSS COUNTRY - BOLTON

BURNDEN had two age group winners at the Red Rose Cross Country League meeting around Leverhulme Park.
Steve Nolan was 1st V55 in the men’s race with a time of 42:48 and Anne Ferguson took the L60 category in 25:54.
Jonathan Sangster led the Burnden team home in the men’s race, finishing 37th overall in 40:08, just ahead of Steve, followed by Pete Hopley (43:45), Keith Thomas (46:55), Mark Cannon (47:49), Christophe Menand (48:54), Tony Wall (49:28) and Frank Mackin (58:20).
Sarah Watton was 28th overall in the ladies race with a time of 24:23. Lyndsay Darbyshire was 3rd L50 in 25:40 and Les Kaneen was 2nd L55 in 26:19.

SWINSTY & FEWSTON FESTIVAL
Lorraine Halwood completed her 46th marathon and Jackie Oakes her 18th at the Swinsty & Fewston Festival in Timble, near Harrogate.
Jackie was 3rd in the women’s race with a time of 4:38:37 with Lorraine 4th female finisher in 4:44:36.

MAD BULL TORCH RUN

The Mad Bull Torch Challenge 5-mile night trail race through the woods around Rivington saw Andy Staveley finish 4th overall and 1st V55 in 37:01 – less than 90 seconds behind the winner. Adrian Ashburn was next home in 44:07.
Then came a string of age group winners. Mumtaz Patel was 1st F45 in 44:45, Elaine Roper 1st F55 in 55:28, Brenda Sedgwick 1st F70 in 1:12:02 and Paul Sedgwick 1st V70 in 1:12:16.

WINDMILL 10K
Debra Hennessey was our sole representative at the Remembrance Day Windmill 10K at Lytham and crossed the line in 60:28.
