FULOP’S TRAIL

No witches but a winding and undulating route awaited Tony Fulop as he took on the Pendle 5 Mile last week. This trail race is back by popular demand and features a bubbling cauldron of track, field, lanes, woodland and riverside paths to capture the soles. It starts and finishes in the picturesque village of Barley in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Pendle Hill. Tony finished the race in a wicked time of 1:06:30.

HEATON HALF

Neatly tying this race into her marathon training, Sarah Brown was a brave Burndener this week as she tackled the Heaton Park half marathon course.

Notoriously hilly, the route is 4 laps around the park and is a heart pumper for sure. Sarah was home in 2:40:01 but carried on for an extra 5K to keep up with her mileage.

SHIELD OF PBS

The parkrun tourist bus was busy this week and results flew in for 62 Burnden Road Runners. Celebrations and congratulations to the Shields as both Alexander and Luisa got parkrun PBs at Heaton Park. Alexander crossed in 18:39 and 24:39.

Special mention to Mark Whittington who was 3rd overall in a field of 256 at Bolton - steaming home in 20:10.
