FILIO RUNS THE LIGHTS

Blackpool’s Run the Lights is an annual event incorporating a 10K and a 5K race with the dazzling spectacle of the world-famous Illuminations.

Offering excitement and vibrancy along the promenade route, it is a popular feature on the race calendar and a regular run for Patrick Filio.

Patrick describe the run as ‘very entertaining’ with the first 5K hard tough with the wind. He crossed the illuminated line in an impressive 47:38.

KERMODE GETS A ROUND IN

Over in Leeds, Michael Kermode made the most of his time – slipping in both a parkrun and the Leeds Half Marathon at Roundhay Park – one of the biggest city parks in Europe. Part of the Leeds Running Festival, runners follow a varied route through stunning parkland, lakes, woodland and gardens.

Michael knocked an incredible 21 minutes from his 2023 time of 1:56:08 at this run – crossing in 1:35:31. His parkrun time was a speedy 25:07.

Michael has recently qualified as a Strength and Conditioning Coach and hopes to use these skills to benefit other Burnden Road Runners. Congratulations Michael!
