RAMSBOTTOM MILE SEES HUGE TURNOUT OF BURNDENERS



Always a fun fest, the Ramsbottom Mile returned this week with an evening of running, food, celebratory beer and lots of smiles.

Not an easy task with the terrain being pretty grassy, Burnden gave it their all and here are the participants in wave order.

NORMANS CONQUER PRESTON 10


Andy and Rachel Norman were off up the road to Lancashire to take on the battle of the Preston 10 Mile. The course was used by England Athletics for the National 5 mile road race championships in 2019 and is a 5 mile looped mix of fast straight roads with a scenic lakeside loop towards the end of the lap.


SWIM, STEVE, SWIM!


Coach Steve Riddle was in the water this week and flippered up a fantastic time for the Aquasphere Epic Lakes 10K Swim at Windermere – the final event of the Epic Lakes Open Water Swim Series.

Taking place from YMCA Lakeside at the stunning location of Newby Bridge, the swim saw Steve take 6th position and 2nd in his MV60 age group with a water-iffic time of 2 hours 51 minutes.

Steve advocates the sport of swimming for rehab and recreation.
