SAY CHEESE, ANDY!

Just the one slice of Burnden represented at the Myerscough 10 Mile this year and despite the lack of club-mates and the Brie-ze, Andy Norman put in a Gouda performance at the Preston event.

Beautiful scenery follows runners along this flat and fast course, which begins from the college and is entirely road.

Andy counted down from 10 to cheese in 1:09:36 and received a wedge of Lancaster Bomber for his 'grate' effort.

FAST AND FESTIVE TRIO

Starting in the town centre of Wilmslow, the Wilmslow Festive 10K’s one lap course is perfect for fast times on scenic roads, before finishing on Mobberley Road/Sandy Lane. It is Run North-West’s ‘traditional festive curtain raiser’ – raising much-needed funds for The Christie since 2017.

First home for Burnden was Ravi ‘Revs’ Patel in 44:07 followed by Samuel ‘Speedy’ Ashton in 46:29 and Lyall ‘Lightning’ Mew in 54:26.

SANTA WELCOMES THE MORRISONS

Dashing through the Rivington roads on Sunday were Burnden’s Julie and David Morrison who joined in with the Tri-Rivington Santa Dash to raise funds for charity.

The Tri-Club asked for donations to Urban Outreach and Bolton Hospice and were pleased to raise £220.
